On August 24, 2010 Ihor Ostash, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, and Embassy staff took part in the Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Parliament Hill commemorating Ukraine’s Independence Day, held by the Ceremonial Guard of National Defence of Canada.

At the beginning of ceremony, Commanding Officer of Ceremonial Guard Mayor S.G.Miller on behalf of Canada welcomed the representatives of Ukrainian state and declared the guests that the Changing of the Guard ceremony was held in honor of Ukraine's Independence Day. Numerous representatives of the Ukrainian community and guests of Ottawa visited the ceremony.
