President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a Law on the Ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on Demarcation of the Ukrainian-Russian State Border.

The instrument was signed on May 17 in Kyiv within an official visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

Late in May President Yanukovych said he considers necessary to complete the demarcation of land borders with Russia and borders with Belarus by 2011. 

The Ukraine-Russia land border is 1,955km long.
