Goods import exceeded export by USD 2,100.3 billion in January-May, the State Committee of Statistics reported.

In January-May 2010, the balance of trade in goods improved by USD 190 million, compared with January-May 2009 (i.e. negative balance made up USD 2,290.3 billion in January-May 2009).

Export of products amounted to USD18,768 billion in January-May. At the same time, it rose by 31.4% compared with January-May 2009.

Import of goods made up USD 20,869.3 billion, having grown by 25.9%

According to the Committee, import of goods exceeded export by USD 1,881.2 billion in January-April.

Within 2009, the balance of trade in goods improved by USD 12,848.2 billion against 2008 (i.e. negative balance totaled USD 18,580.9 billion in 2008).

In 2008, import surpassed export by USD 18,531.9 billion.

The balance of trade in goods worsened by USD 7,210 billion during 2008 against 2007 (i.e. negative balance reached USD 11,321.9 billion).
