Head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Mykhailo Papiyev during his communication with journalists informed that the aid to Bukovyna residents suffering from the natural disaster came from Russia - by two planes IL-76, 10 tons of sugar was delivered to the region, as well as 53,000 tins of canned goods, 80 tents, three electric stations, 3,500 blankets. According to him, the humanitarian aid from the EU countries is expected, the State Regional State Administration's press service told.

“The humanitarian commission was set up to distribute the humanitarian aid in the transparent regime and with participation of mass media without fail in order that there will be no abuse,” Mykhailo Papiyev underscored. He also expressed conviction that soon the humanitarian aid from other Ukrainian regions will come.

At the same time, according to the Head of the Regional State Administration, no official proposals as regards the humanitarian aid came within the frames of the Chernivtsi region from a single entrepreneur, single enterprise either to the district headquarters or to the regional headquarter, except for UAH 5,000 from an entrepreneur and UAH 100,000 from the Bukovyna Construction Materials located in the region.

“I receive with thanks any aid to the people,” Mykhailo Papiyev said. We are not interested in the amount, either UAH 5, or UAH 50, or UAH 50,000, manifestation of human mutual support is important for us.”
