Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Ihor Ostash visited the ceremony where Ukraine's national flag was hoisted in Vancouver on February 11, 2010.  It symbolizes the country's readiness to participate in the 21st Winter Olympics.

The flag hoisting ceremony took place in the Olympic Village to the strains of the Ukrainian national anthem.

Fifty-one athletes will represent Ukraine in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Lugeathlete Lilia Ludan was earlier empowered to carry Ukraine's flag during the opening ceremony of the 21st Winter Olympic Games.
